Get your Kick channel set up the right way and be ready for your first stream fast.
Kick is growing quickly, with creator-friendly revenue splits and a simpler setup than many legacy platforms. This guide walks you through the essentials so your channel looks polished before you go live.
Step-by-Step: Create & Set Up Your Kick Account
1. Visit kick.com
Click the green "Sign Up" button in the top-right corner.
2. Enter Your Account Details
- Username that matches your creator brand
- Email and password
- Optional: connect Twitter, Google, or Apple
- Click Sign Up
Use the same branded name you use on Twitch, YouTube, and your social channels.
Step 3: Customize Your Profile
Once you are signed in, click your avatar, open "Channel," then select "Edit Profile."
Complete these basics:
- Bio: Explain what you stream and when viewers can expect you live
- Avatar and banner: Use clean graphics from Canva, OWN3D, or your own branding kit
- Social links: Add YouTube, Discord, and any platforms you actively use
Pro tip: Consistent branding makes your channel look more established from day one.
Step 4: Set Up Streaming Software
Kick works with OBS, Streamlabs, XSplit, and similar tools. Here's the quickest way to connect it in OBS:
In OBS Studio:
- 1Go to Settings → Stream
- 2Choose Custom as the service
- 3Get your Stream URL and Stream Key from Kick:
- Go to your Kick dashboard → "Settings → Stream Key"
- 4Paste them into OBS and click Apply.
Step 5: Go Live!
Before you go live, make sure these details are filled out:
- Stream Title
- Category/Game
- Language
You can update all of this from your Kick dashboard under "Stream Info."
Then return to OBS, click Start Streaming, and launch with confidence.
Optional: Enable Chat Moderation & Extensions
- Add moderators under Channel Settings → Mods
- Use tools like Kick Chat Overlay or Botrix to manage chat commands
