AI video editing, used carefully

AI editing is useful for the rough cut, captions, and finding pauses. You still have to watch the timeline. A model will happily cut the joke.

Evergreen

Let it do the chores

Text-based editing, silence removal, caption generation, and a first pass at music timing can save an evening. Generative fill, fake B-roll, and "make it cinematic" buttons can also invent a video you did not shoot. Use those only when you are comfortable owning what they added.

Watch the whole cut once without trusting the preview thumbnails. Check names, numbers, and the ends of sentences. If a tool offers to generate a person or a place, that is a disclosure question, not just a style question.

Frequently asked questions

Will this replace an editor?

It replaces some of the tedious passes. It does not know what your channel is allowed to sound like. That part is still you, or a human editor who does.
