Content series

A series is a format people can recognize and wait for. Episode 1 should make episode 2 obvious.

Evergreen

Random posts do not build a show

A series has a name, a repeating structure, and a reason the next one exists. "Day 12 of fixing my audio" is a series. A pile of unrelated tips is a blog with no table of contents.

Long-form platforms have always rewarded shows. Short-form is catching up: people binge a run of episodes the same way they used to binge a playlist. Number them. Use the same framing, the same intro line, the same thumbnail mark.

Make the next episode easy to find

The series should work even if someone starts in the middle.

  • Say the series name in the first sentence or on the first frame.
  • End with the specific next step, not "more soon."
  • Keep a playlist, a Shorts shelf, or a pinned comment that lists the order.
  • Plan the next three episodes in the planner before you publish episode one.

Frequently asked questions

What if I run out of episodes?

End the season on purpose. A finished series you can point to is more useful than an abandoned "episode 4" that never arrives.
