Do not make the short a trailer with no point
A Short that only says "full video on my channel" is easy to ignore. Give the tip, the joke, or the result inside the Short. Then tell them the long video has the rest of the build, the other three mistakes, or the full match.
Subscribers from Shorts and subscribers from long videos behave differently. Check which group watches the other format before you assume one machine feeds the other. Sometimes you are running two shows. That is fine if you know it.
