How the algorithm actually behaves

There is no single algorithm. Each app tests a post with a small group, then widens it if those people watch, share, or search.

Evergreen

You are negotiating with the first viewers

The systems are different, and they change. The part that stays useful: a post is shown to someone, they either give it time or they do not, and that behavior teaches the next decision. Followers are not a guarantee they will see it. Interest is.

So the work is boring on purpose. Clear topic, strong open, a reason to finish, and a pattern the next post can repeat. Hashtags, posting times, and "secret" settings are tie breakers. They do not rescue a video people leave.
